The 2.54-minute long trailer of The Covenant hints that the Guy Ritchie directorial explores the bond between two men – a US Army officer and an Afghan interpreter.
The trailer primarily revolves around a US Army officer named Sergeant John Kinley (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) who loses his memory after suffering a head injury on the war front in Afghanistan during a conflict with the Taliban. John can’t remember anything except his guard, Ahmed, who is an Afghan interpreter. After John Kinley is wounded by a Taliban assailant, Ahmed rescues him, cares for him, and helps him travel through the mountains to finally make it home safely. Later, when John learns that Ahmed and his family did not have the opportunity to reach America, he decides to re-enter the war zone to find and rescue them.
